A Greenloons exclusive family (or couples and friends) adventure! The Irish county of Clare (An Clár) is situated in the mid-west region of Ireland, boasting truly breathtaking scenery and a wonderfully warm, charming and welcoming people. Clare is a magical county, full of surprise and contrast. It combines an Atlantic-pounded coast, and dramatic and unique wind-swept landscapes with artifacts from prehistory through medieval times. Further, the region of Connemara in County Galway, is known for its wild, rugged and “savage beauty” – (according to Oscar Wilde), its moody landscapes of craggy mountains, tumbling pebble streams, clear rivers and Loughs, windswept blanket bogs, dramatic islands, tranquil coves and picturesque fishing villages.
The iconic headlands of the Cliffs of Moher and the music-filled pubs of Doolin are a draw for many, but we’ll use them as an excuse to plunge further, for you’ll be right on the edge of the Burren, a stark, lunar landscape of wild beauty and spectacularly wild Atlantic seascapes. You’ll be touring along a new route called the Wild Atlantic Way – complete with hiking, culinary, kayaking and artistic delights – along the rugged west coastline of Ireland. Colorful small shops and cozy pubs, traditional cottages and houses are just a few of the other attributes of this fully-guided and customizable family trip.
You’ll be guided by very knowledgeable and 100% Irish guides who will help you discover this landscape, engage with the peoples of the Gaelic Aran Islands and of course participate in all the exciting activities the region has to offer.
