Green Festival this weekend in Washington, DC: Ecotravel speakers and exhibits

This weekend (October 23-24), the Washington Convention Center will host one of the nation’s premier Green Festival & Sustainable Living events.  In addition to information about green career, media, product, food, energy, investment, transportation, fashion, and construction industries, the festival will also be feature ecotravel speakers and exhibitors. 

Ecotravel speakers scheduled include:

  • Joao Amorim, Emmy-nominated Brazilian director, who has directed and produced the web series Postmodern times about the evolution of consciousness and ecology,
  • Dr. Kevin Danaher and Madea Benjamin who are the founders of Global Exchange Reality Tours, and
  • Rob Holmes from the Green Living Project, whose media production work focuses on social, environmental and sustainability projects through travels to more than 70 countries.

Ecotravel exhibitors scheduled include:

  • Better World Club, which is the nation’s only environmentally friendly auto club,
  •, which offers bookings with green hotels, hybrid, and fuel-efficient car rentals, and carbon offsetting programs,
  • National Association of Railroad Passengers, which is the largest national membership advocacy organization for train and rail transit passengers,
  • Sustainable Travel International, which is a leader in sustainable tourism development, and
  • Global Exchange Reality Tours, which provides tours with the opportunity to understand issues beyond what is communicated by the mass media and gain a new vantage point from which to view and affect US foreign policy.  Global Exchange Reality Tours is also is co-sponsoring the Green Festival.

Green Festival details:

  • Saturday, October 23 from 10 am – 7 pm
  • Sunday, October 24 from 11 am – 6pm
  • Washington Convention Center

Can’t make it?  The next Green Festival will be held in San Francisco, California on November 6-7 at the San Francisco Concourse Exhibition Center.
