Highlights

This adventure consists of two experiences: a stay at an eco-lodge and a jaguar conservation experience by houseboat.

Araras Eco Lodge offers a homely atmosphere, where visitors from diverse generations and cultures, find the creative space to fulfill their personal experiences. The lodge, built in regional rustic style, offers comfortable rooms with air conditioning with screened windows, ceiling fans, private bathrooms (cold and hot showers); a swimming pool with an adjoining covered area for meals, large verandas with hammocks, reading room and conference hall, gift shop, bar, and restaurant. The excellent regional food consists of dishes made from the tasty meat and fishes of the Pantanal, as well as featuring organic salads, vegetable, and seasonal fruits.

The Barão de Melgaço Yacht based on the Paraguay River, in Mato Grosso, has 9 suites (with private baths, sounds systems, and air-conditioning), living room, TV satellite, DVD, panoramic deck and barbecue grill, the boat is a complete floating house in middle of a spectacular wildlife. Kindly note that the boat stays anchored on the North side of the Taiaman Island: the access is done by car from Cuiaba until a private embarkation point near Taiaman Ecological Reserve.

The jaguar is the largest cat at the Americas and the 3rd in the world, after the Tiger and Lion. From the end of June to early November, it is the best season to see them since it is the dry season so they need to be closer to the river banks to get water.
