Summary

Stay in comfortable Ecolodge accommodation, enjoy fine dining and relax in peace, surrounded by Australian native forests and bushland.  Take in a journey along the most scenic Great Ocean Road accompanied by a guide on an exclusive tour.  Settle in at the Ecolodge with afternoon tea and join an ecologist on a guided walk through beautiful bushland to observe the wild kangaroos, koalas and birdlife which inhabit the region. Share dinner especially prepared from the extensive kitchen gardens.

The following day's private guide will take you on one of the most beautiful sections of the Great Ocean Walk, followed by a visit to the historic Lighthous. After dinner, meet elusive and nocturnal wildlife. On day three enjoy a short walk or a swim at the beach then head back to Melbourne via the scenic touring route to see ancient rock sculptures rising out of the wild waters of the Southern Ocean - take a scenic helicopter flight over the famous Twelve Apostles and visit Loch Ard Gorge and London Bridge.

Why Authentic Ecotourism?

The Great Ocean Ecolodge is a social enterprise, established and operated by the Conservation Ecology Centre. All profits are invested into wildlife conservation and the Ecolodge itself is entirely solar powered and ecologically responsible, resting gently in the landscape.

Stay in the award winning eco retreat, venture out into the bush with researchers to help save endangered species, explore the Great Ocean Walk, indulge in the region's finest local produce or just relax in the dappled shade of the eucalypts.

Day 1 (D):  Hotel pick up from Melbourne, Great Ocean Road sightseeing tour with lunch in Lorne. Two hour guided twighlight nature walk.

Day 2 (B,L,D): Explore sections of the Great Ocean Walk on a 3-5 hours walk - treck modalities - easy/moderate. Self-guided walking notes will be provided but we can also organise a guide at a small fee to take you to Blanket Bay for a walk along the rockpools or arrange a pickup near after a longer hike.  Encounter secluded sandy beaches and ocean cliffs with a picnic lunch.  Visit the Cape Otway Lighthouse and coastal bushland. Share close encounters with endangered wildlife.

Day 3 (B,L): Spend the morning relaxing, watch the kangaroos or explore the private bushland tracks. After a days walk, you might like to book in a massage before you continue your journey. Picnic lunch and a scenic drive back to Melboure, stopping at the famous Twelve Apostels for a scenic flight.
